A team of students from the full-time Wisconsin MBA program was the top fundraiser in this year’s “Polar Plunge,” an event to benefit Special Olympics.
This year's MBA group broke last year's record, raising $13,855 (the next highest contributor raised $4,678). They raised the money by gathering pledges for plunging into the icy waters of Lake Monona.
In addition, students from Mu Kappa Tau (MKT), the student organization for marketing undergraduates, helped organize and volunteered to work at the event and raised more than $1,500.
Money raised from the “Polar Plunge” supports local Special Olympics programs in Wisconsin, allowing nearly 10,000 athletes with cognitive disabilities the chance to enjoy participation in sports and competition with their peers.
