Antonio S. Mello joined the Wisconsin School of Business in 1995 and currently holds the Frank Graner Chair in the Department of Finance, Investments and Banking.

Professor Mello’s research focuses on risk management, corporate financial policy and capital markets imperfections and stability.

Professor Mello combines an academic career with extensive practical experience as a Central Banker, Investment Banker, as well as a Principal at a Private Equity firm, Advisor at a Real Estate Investment Trust and as a Hedge Fund manager.

Mello previosuly taught at MIT, INSEAD, and UCP in Lisbon, and has held short term appointments at Banco de España and the Fed of Chicago (1997).
