International Student Services

ISSInternational Student Services (ISS) offers a variety of services to international students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The ISS staff members provide information and programs to international students about the campus and community in addition to offering support and assistance concerning visas and related immigration issues.

Read the International Student Handbook.

Housing

The GREM program office can provide assistance with your housing search for your semester in Madison as soon as you are accepted into the program and commit to attending.

We do not recommend signing any lease contracts until you have secured your visa to gain entry into the United States. There are several places that offer short-term lease options for the semester.

For on-campus housing information, visit the University Housing website. The University Apartments community serves graduate students, student families, academic staff, and faculty at UW-Madison. For off-campus housing, contact the Campus Information & Visitor Center.

Orientation

You will be required to attend the GREM program orientation session which is held prior to the official start of classes. During the orientation week, International Student Services also conducts a mandatory orientation session you will need to attend. This will be noted on your GREM program orientation schedule.

All students are encouraged to attend graduation and the ceremony held in December. For more information, please see the Commencement page: http://www.commencement.wisc.edu/
