Graaskamp Center Spring Board Conference
April 17-18, 2012
Four Seasons Hotel, Chicago, IL
New Beginnings: Assessing the State of our Industry
At the dawn of 2012, we look ahead and see signs of renewed confidence. Economic indicators are showing positive signs, and some sectors of the real estate industry are already on the road to recovery. As an election year, 2012 will also be a time for conversations and conventions, decisions and transitions. Leaders in both business and politics will face significant challenges—in the U.S. and abroad—and will have opportunities to affect change on many levels. The spring conference of the Graaskamp Center Board of Advisors will address the outlook for industry, provoke discussion on long delayed issues of debt resolution and infrastructure investment, and look to broader global issues affecting our region.

Infrastructure: Time to Retool
Cutbacks in spending could jeopardize the backbone of commerce if America does not address acute needs in infrastructure from roads, schools, hospitals, airports and other key infrastructure needs. America, unlike many other nations, has funded this cost through the public sector, rather than developing a strong private sector to both manage and fund these needs. Is there a need for a new public – private model? Our panelists are private infrastructure investors that will offer insights into opportunities for future investments.
