The Compass Program enables business students to develop the leadership abilities, communication skills, and professionalism necessary of future business leaders. Students will gain insight into their personal style and strengths, improve their ability to work effectively with others, and learn how to chart their path to success while also having a positive impact on their community.

Requirements for Business Students Admitted Summer 2012

First semester in the Wisconsin School of Business:

  • Attend one of the New Business Student Orientation sessions at the start of fall semester
  • Read, sign, and commit to adhering to the Wisconsin BBA Honor Code at the New Student Orientation Session
  • Activate a BuckyNet account, which includes uploading an approved résumé to their BuckyNet profile—résumés can be reviewed and approved by a career advisor via a drop-in or scheduled advising appointment (Deadline: Friday, November 9 at 4:30 p.m.)

First year in the Wisconsin School of Business:

  • Complete at least one check-in with an academic advisor via a drop-in or scheduled academic advising appointment at the BBA Advising Center
  • Attend at least two approved leadership or career workshops coordinated by the Wisconsin BBA program
  • Participate in one approved Wisconsin School of Business-sponsored community service event

As applicable:

  • Report your internship and post-graduation plans to the Wisconsin BBA program via BuckyNet

 

Requirements for Business Students Admitted Summer 2013

First semester in the Wisconsin School of Business:

 

  • Attend one of the New Business Student Orientation sessions at the start of fall semester
  • Read, sign, and commit to adhering to the Wisconsin BBA Honor Code at the New Student Orientation Session
  • Activate a BuckyNet account
  • Enroll in and successfully complete the Compass Course, a one-credit graded course for new business students—enrollment instructions will be sent to admitted students after they receive their admissions decision in summer 2013

 

First year in the Wisconsin School of Business:

 

  • Attend at least two approved leadership or career workshops coordinated by the Wisconsin BBA program

 

As applicable:

  • Report your internship and post-graduation plans to the Wisconsin BBA program via BuckyNet

Students who do not complete the Compass Program requirements will have a hold placed on their course enrollment and will not be able to register for classes.
