The Midwest Undergraduate Business Summit is a conference designed to spark collaboration from business schools throughout the region to create better leaders for tomorrow. This is the first year that MUBS is being held and it was originally inspired by Emory University's UBSLC.

Each Midwest business school is invited to send three students who represent leadership in their communities. It is up to each school to select students who they feel are best qualified to meet the summit's objectives.
Registration payment is due by October 9th and is $175 per student. Applications will be accepted on a first come first serve basis until the conference reaches full capacity.

Mimi Mei - Executive Director
Mimi is the Vice President of Programming for BBA Gov and is in her second year of a three year plan majoring in Marketing and Management & Human Resources with an Emphasis in Entrepreneurship and a Leadership Certificate. She recently completed a marketing and risk management internship at Dross Countryside Insurance in Merton, Wisconsin. Mimi currently works for Anton's Salon and MSpa as a Salon Coordinator, and has held that position for the past two-and-a-half years. Mimi has a horse named Murphy and she has been horseback riding for thirteen years.
Brian Lauscher - Assistant Director
Brian is President of BBA Gov and is a junior majoring in Finance, Investment & Banking and Real Estate with a certificate in leadership. This is Brian's third year in BBA Gov and his second year serving as president. Brian has been involved in the coordination of efforts, sponsorship, and school outreach for the summit. Additionally, Brian works for the Office of Admissions and Recruiting for the Wisconsin School of Business as a Lead Ambassador for the BBA Program. Brian just joined a Bollywood Fusion Dance team, enjoys swimming, and team trivia.
Nick Sanders - Registration Liason
Nick is a sophomore majoring in Finance, Investment & Banking and Real Estate. He is the Registration Liaison for MUBS, where he has created the registration forms and updated the forms. Nick is also the Public Relations Chair for BBA Gov. Additionally, Nick works as a Student Assistant in the Financial Management Office for the Wisconsin School of Business He spends his free time on the lake with his family during the summer.
Varshaya Visvanatha - Case Competition Chair
Varshaya is a sophomore majoring in Accounting and Finance, Investment & Banking at the Wisconsin School of Business. Originally from California, Varshaya is learning to love the Wisconsin cold. She is currently involved in BBA Government as the case competition chair and administrative chair, and Tangled Up In Blue A Cappella. In her spare time, she loves to visit the food carts on State Street for really good Pad Thai.
Stephanie Volesky - T-Shirt and Gifts Chair
Stephanie is a sophomore at the Wisconsin School of Business majoring in Finance, Investment & Banking and Supply Chain Management. She has been supporting the Midwest Undergraduate Business Summit through creation and organization of the t-shirt designs, organizing the leadership workshop, and obtaining sponsor and attendee gifts. Additionally, Stephanie is currently on an intramural volleyball team.
Emily Nelson - Vice President of Marketing and Marketing Chair
Emily is Vice President of Marketing for BBA Gov and is a sophomore majoring in Marketing and Management and Human Resources, with a specialization in Supply Chain Management and certificates in Spanish and Leadership. She is from DeForest, Wisconsin and she has been working on marketing the conference to students at the Wisconsin School of Business. Emily just spent the summer in Croatia as an intern.

Brent is a sophomore majoring in Actuarial Science and Risk Management & Insurance at the Wisconsin School of Business. As the Website Coordinator for MUBS, Brent has been involved in creating content, updating content, and solving problems with the website. Brent is from Sussex, Wisconsin and enjoys running.
AJ Hipke - Vice President of Advocacy and Event Contributor
AJ is Vice President of Advocacy for BBA Gov and is currently a junior majoring in Finance and Economics. AJ is from White Lake, Wisconsin and currently works as a Financial Advisor Intern at Aerie Preferred Financial Group. As an Executive Board Member for BBA Gov, AJ has helped with the Midwest Undergraduate Business Summit in a supporting role. AJ enjoys the outdoors, going on runs, and when the season changes to fall.
Suzanne Marovec - Corporate Partners Chair
Suzanne is a sophomore majoring in Marketing and Music. Suzanne has studied high level math classes during her time at UW-Madison and is currently the Advertising Chair for BBA Gov, where she focuses on marketing events for the School of Business. She is a strong music enthusiast who plays the trombone in the University of Wisconsin Marching Band.
Matt Mirsberger - Food, Hotel, and Accommodations Chair
Matt is the Vice President of Finance for BBA Gov and is a sophomore majoring in Accounting at the University of Wisconsin-Madison with plans to complete the Integrated Master of Accountancy degree. He serves as the Food, Hotel, and Accommodations Committee Chair for the Midwest Undergraduate Business Summit and is responsible for negotiating hotel arrangements, as well as dining. Some of his hobbies include Badger athletics, tennis, and socializing with friends.
BBA Gov and the Wisconsin School of Business
The Midwest Undergraduate Business Summit is hosted by the Wisconsin BBA Student Government of the Wisconsin School of Business (BBA Gov). BBA Gov is a growing government that is interested in continuing to explore the many opportunities available with in the Midwestern business schools.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Are students encouraged to bring a case or project to the summit?
The case study that we will be conducting at the summit will require no preparation - all case work will be complete within the allotted time. With that said, we do encourage students to bring cases/projects/ideas to share and discuss with other conference attendees. This will help students create connections that will last beyond the summit.
2. What are the options and rates for available hotels specifically for the conference?
We recommend attendees stay at the Hampton Inn and Suites (440 W Johnson St), which is in the heart of downtown-campus and a short 10 minute walk to the school of business. At this point, our block of rooms has been let go, however room rates are still held at $139/night for double queen rooms and $159/night for king rooms with sleeper sofa. These reduced rates are much lower than other hotels in the area if you book through our link. We can have up to four attendees in a room - if you would like us to pair your school with another school we are able to do that to help bring down the cost.
3. In what ways are students able to network with business professionals at the summit?
We will have business leadership panels, leadership roundtable events, dinner networking events, a small career-fair for attendees, and other sponsored events throughout the conference with business professionals. Businesses in attendance include:
