Jake Blatnik is a sophomore in the Wisconsin School of Business, double majoring in Finance, Investment & Banking and Management & Human Resources. Jake is passionate about connecting students, organizations, and ideas with the resources to make them successful. Jake has worked effectively to change the culture and relationship between business student organizations and BBA Gov. He has a policy of open communication and collaboration between BBA Gov members, the business student organizations, and the student body.

Hannah is a senior majoring in Accounting with an expected graduation date of May 2013.  Her involvement in BBA Gov began last year as a class representative. This year she worked with her fellow BBA Gov executives to create a formal registration process for the WSoB student organizations. The goal of this process is to officially recognize which student organizations are affiliated with the WSoB. Throughout the academic year, she will continue to work with these organizations to represent them within the WSoB and across campus. Outside of Grainger, Hannah enjoys attending Badger sporting events, traveling, and catching up on much-needed sleep!

Hannah is a junior majoring in Accounting. This year she is working on the BBA Gov's yearly budget and she is managing the BBA Gov grant program. In the upcoming semester she will be working on implementing effective internal controls. She is also a member of Beta Alpha Psi and the Institute of Management Accountants.

Karen Sanchez joins BBA Gov as a junior in the Wisconsin School of Business (WSoB) studying Marketing with hopes of earning a specialization in Supply Chain Management. Karen’s passion for consumer insights married with her love of community service led to her initial interest in her position at BBA Gov. BBA Gov’s focus on being the voice of the student and its vibrant energy brought her to appreciate the work of the organization. Karen recognizes the value of the collaborative work she partakes in and the opportunities she gets to deliver events that unite the WSoB, such as Grainger Goes Pink, which she had the pleasure of heading. Karen is looking forward to meeting her successor who she expects will continue the success of BBA Gov through opportunities that drive communication between faculty, staff and students, and will enable himself or herself to apply his or her strategic and leadership skills through this position. Outside the classroom and co-curricular activities, Karen stays busy sailing on Lake Mendota, exploring the arboretum, and photographing the beautiful city of Madison.

Belle is currently a third-year student in the Wisconsin School of Business double majoring in Marketing and Management & Human Resources. Originally from Shoreview, Minnesota, Belle is currently developing a high-level marketing strategy focused around awareness. Part of this process includes growing BBA Gov’s social media presence. As BBA Gov continues to reinforce its new role, marketing serves an important informational and promotional purpose for Wisconsin School of Business students and student organizations.

In addition to her work with BBA Gov, Belle is also involved in Madison Business Mentoring (MBM), Delta Sigma Pi, myBiz, Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization (CEO), and b.Line Magazine. Outside of BBA Gov, Belle enjoys playing tennis, going to concerts, playing piano, and running.

Alex is currently a Senior in the WSoB expecting to graduate in May 2012 with a dual focus in Finance and Real Estate. A member of BBA Gov since his election to VP-Administration in May, Alex has proudly represented the WSoB to the best of his abilities. In the fall semester Alex focused on the coordinating of elections to ensure that BBA Gov had the adequate representation to fulfill its goals. As VP-Administration Alex has coordinated communication between the members of BBA Gov and other members of the WSoB for the updating of the Business school website, myBiz and the use of the Undergrad Lounge. Alex also supported the other VPs and representatives in BBA Gov to help achieve the organization's goals. Moving forward Alex hopes to continue to be a positive representative of BBA Gov and the WSoB.

Kayla is a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, hoping to major in accounting. She enjoys BBA Gov and appreciates the opportunities she is given to better the Wisconsin School of Business. Kayla is currently working on developing a WSoB majors-session for pre-business and incoming business students to help guide each student in the direction of their preferred major. As a Pre-Business Representative, Kayla hopes to better inform pre-business students in picking a major and applying to the Wisconsin School of Business. Kayla has provided much dedication to BBA Gov and she hopes to see the organization grow during spring semester. Outside of the classroom, Kayla enjoys working out and boating during the summer months.

Cole Briggs is a freshman at the University of Wisconsin Madison. He is a pre business student aspiring to major in marketing. On BBA Gov, he is currently working on enhancing the experience of freshman pre-business students with another representative Kayla McGehee. He hopes to make BBA Gov a more recognized organization in the upcoming semester. Outside of BBA Gov. He also participates in the member relations committee of the SHRM club. Cole is a fall pledge of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, and he was elected to the position of pledge class president. In his free time, he enjoys playing sports and watching movies with friends.

Sam is a freshman and is intending to major in finance and possibly accounting. For the next semester, Sam is hoping to help organize the Grainger Cup, which is a competition between different student organizations. He hopes to help coordinate events between different business organizations to increase the sense of community in Grainger. So far this semester, Sam helped to prepare for Grainger Goes Pink, and helped work the atrium table throughout the week. Fun Fact: Sam can do the Saltine Challenge (eating 6 saltines in 1 minute without water).

David is a sophomore majoring in Marketing & Management and Human Resources and is a BBA Gov Class Representative for the second year in a row. He sees the BBA Gov as a great channel to provide students with opportunities to get involved and make a real difference within the Wisconsin School of Business. He is currently leading the Grainger Cup initiative, a new competition within the school aiming to bring business students together through friendly competition while raising money to support impoverished families in developing countries. Also, as a member of the Marketing Team he is helping the BBA Gov work toward its mission of connecting the entire business school through social media. Throughout the rest of the year he looks to continue engaging as much of the Sophomore Class as possible, both through social media interaction and participation in the Grainger Cup. When it’s warm out David loves to play golf and wakeboard in northern Wisconsin, switching to alpine skiing when it snows.

In addition to her involvement in planning the T-Shirt Tradition event for the first of every month, she is currently working on creating a promotional video for BBA Gov to share difference experiences with the organization as well as an overview of the events. As a representative of the sophomore class, Melissa is eager to meet as many students and hear a variety of opinions in order to help students make the most of their experience in the Wisconsin School of Business.

Da is a junior student majoring in Actuarial Science and RMI in the Wisconsin School of business. BBA is a great platform for students to explore their leadership opportunities and contribute to the development of the Wisconsin School of Business. Currently, he is helping Hanna work on its records. Da is looking forward to help our business school students get more from the Wisconsin School of Business. He has brought out the mentor-mentee program and really wants to make that happen. Fun fact about Da is his ability to eat 8 pies after a formal dinner and still feel so hungry that he can order a large pizza and cinnamon sticks.

John is a Junior in the Wisconsin School of Business majoring in Finance, Investment, and Banking.  He enjoys working with his peers on BBA Gov to improve the experiences of every student in the Wisconsin School of Business.  John expects to expand upon the student-faculty relationships already in place inside the walls of Grainger and building the business school's reputation in the Wisconsin community.  John is a member of the Investment Banking Club here on campus and an Evans Scholarship recipient.

Greg Polinger is a 4th year marketing student who has worked to improve the marketing functions of BBA Gov.  Greg hopes that BBA Gov. will help foster a Grainger community in which students can access unlimited resources for their journey into becoming the world’s most successful business leaders.  Greg sees BBA Gov. as a communication aid for students to openly express their opinions on how to further improve their education.  Greg is proud that BBA Gov. has already succeeded in promoting the Wisconsin Idea through events such as Grainger Goes Pink.  By studying abroad within Latin America, Greg has gained a global perspective and believes that Grainger has successfully prepared him for today’s international business climate.  Greg is dedicated to promoting Grainger’s image as one of the nation's top business schools.

Monica Schweitzer is a senior double majoring in finance, investments, and banking and entrepreneurship who intends to graduate May 2012.  She is extremely interested in helping shape BBA government’s mission and discovering the organization's core competencies so that it eventually becomes a tremendous resource for both students and faculty.
