What Can I Do with a Major in OTM? by Nikki Bollig

Please join us to learn more about the Operations and Technology Management (OTM) major and related career opportunities on Monday, October 29, from 6:00-7:30 p.m. in 3070 Grainger Hall! Pizza and soda will be served!

• OTM recruiters from several companies will be there to talk about career opportunities in operations!
• OTM faculty and staff that teach OTM classes will be there to answer your questions!
• Current OTM students will be available to provide their perspectives!

The OTM major in the Wisconsin School of Business offers students exciting career opportunities in dynamic work environments. Recent OTM graduates have taken positions with a number of leading companies in a variety of roles, and starting salaries are consistently at or above the Wisconsin School of Business average.

More and more companies are looking for individuals with operations experience to fill leadership positions. Spencer Stuart, an executive search firm, conducts annual research on the developmental background and professional experience of the CEOs of S&P 500 companies. In a recent survey, for the second year in a row, operations (31%) was the most popular functional role BEFORE becoming a CEO, followed by finance (21%) and marketing roles (12%).

We invite you to take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about the OTM major. Please RSVP by Wednesday, October 24, to Kathy McCord at kmccord@bus.wisc.edu if you plan to attend.
