Venture out with Quest and make your next winter break a meaningful and memorable adventure. Quest trips offer UW students a chance to explore issues of social justice in a hands-on environment with a diverse group of passionate and engaged peers. Quest is currently accepting applications for January 2013 trips heading to some of the world’s most fascinating locations!
QUEST: CAMBODIA Experience the beauty, heartache, and hope of this captivating country. As you work to understand the sobering historical context of this complex region of the world, you’ll teach English lessons in under-served rural areas and empower your students with important skills. You’ll also spend time at a visionary orphanage and visit incredible sites, including the stunning temples of Angkor Wat.
QUEST: COSTA RICA Reclaim your connection to the land and your fellow humans as you explore issues of ecological sustainability and enjoy some of life’s simple pleasures: nourishing food, satisfying labor, and great face-to-face conversations. For most of the trip, you’ll work on a small-scale, hydro-powered, family-run organic farm, but you’ll also have some time to relax on some of the world’s best beaches!
QUEST: KENYA Explore the power of education and make a difference in the lives of children affected by extreme poverty. While soaking up the culture of this beautiful East African country, you’ll work to facilitate a camp for orphaned and refugee children. You’ll also meet with an inspiring group of entrepreneurs in the settlements of Nairobi, and even rumble across the African savanna on a safari.
Visit our website or Facebook page for more information on these and other exciting opportunities. All students are welcome to apply, but spaces are limited! Submit your application by May 11th and receive up to $150 off your trip cost!
