Morgridge Center Update by Katie Coon

Check out the great opportunities at the Morgridge Center this week!  Volunteer to be a marketing and even planner at the Fair Trade Store or provide grant research and writing support for Dance Dances!

Marketing and Event Planning Volunteer at FAIR TRADE Store

SERRV is a nonprofit organization with a mission to eradicate poverty wherever it resides by providing opportunity and support to artisans and farmers worldwide. SERRV works with artisans worldwide to provide high-quality, hand crafted goods, all of which are fair trade certified.

Marketing volunteers help the organization brainstorm ways to connect with Madison residents while connecting SERRV with various groups throughout the city. Projects may include brainstorming and executing a special event, developing campaigns to raise awareness about SERRV’s mission, and working within their preexisting social groups to bring new customer groups into the store. Position will work closely with store manager. This is a great opportunity for students looking to get their feet wet in marketing for a non-profit, as well as for those who have a passion for marketing and branding.

Grant Research & Writing Support

Entertaining neighbors, families, and communities since 2000, Dane Dances! has established a solid reputation as a local event by drawing thousands to rooftop of the Monona Terrace every Friday evening in August. The specific objective of Dane Dances! is to provide a diverse environment and grow relationships between people of different backgrounds in Dane County.

Dane Dances! is seeking assistance in researching and writing grants for our community-oriented event series. Because Dane Dances! relies heavily on volunteer assistance, the organization does not always have time to research, write and apply for grants. If you are familiar with grant research resources and/or grant writing, contact Erin Richardson, Executive Director, at (608) 719-8846. To learn more about Dance Dances! visit their website.
