Where Are They Now? Alumni Updates from Intuit by Kelly Cuene

What’s it like to work at Intuit, maker of popular software programs such as TurboTax and Quickbooks? Check out what these Badger alums had to say:

Tad M.

“I can’t think of a better way to start my career than joining Intuit’s Rotational Development Program (RDP).  When I graduated from Madison in 2006, I felt like I was equipped with a great set of analytical and entrepreneurial skills, but I didn’t know quite what to do with them.  In RDP, I was thrust into situations where those UW-honed skills were brought to the surface.  I interviewed small businesses to better understand their struggles.  I analyzed market trends to make strategic recommendations on pricing.  I even started a side project, Intuit Brainstorm, that eventually became its own business.  I thank UW-Madison for giving me the skills to lead and Intuit for giving me the environment in which to do it.”

"My name is Katie Den Boer and I'm in my third rotation with Intuit's Finance Rotational Development Program (FRDP). For those who don't know, Intuit makes financial software, like TurboTax, QuickBooks, and Mint and is located in Mountain View, CA, the heart of Silicon Valley. I really really enjoy my program because it gives me the opportunity to try four different finance-related jobs and learn from them, for better or for worse, about who I am, what I'm good at, and what I want to do with my career. Intuit is a really laid-back culture, with very nice people who want the best for you and are eager to help you develop. FRDP is a highly touted and recognized program in our company and we receive a lot of cool opportunities and great exposure as a result. Interns get a condensed version of an FRDP rotation at our Woodland Hills, Mountain View, Menlo Park, or San Diego offices with the hope that they have a wonderful summer and join us full-time as FRDPers the fall after they graduate."
