This week, we'll provide an overview of career-related events and happenings during fall semester so you can get a jumpstart on your planning!

BCC Programming

The BCC will be offering workshops in September and October to help you prepare for the Career & Internship Fair, write resumes and cover letters, hone  your interviewing or networking skills and more. Keep an eye on the myBiz calendar for more details.

New for fall: BCC Career Kickoff sessions! Designed to help recently admitted business students and any other interested business students get a jumpstart on their career exploration and planning. Come learn how to build your resume, search for internships and make the most of on-campus recruiting.

BCC Advising

The BCC offers drop-in advising and scheduled 1:1 advising appointments. Drop-in advising is offered every weekday from 11:30-1:30 and no appointment is required. Just stop in and meet with an advisor for 10 minutes to get quick answers to questions about resumes, cover letters, career fair preparation or BuckyNet navigation and applications.

Scheduled appointments are usually 30 minutes in length and are more appropriate for questions regarding interviewing, career exploration, networking, job/internship searching, job offer evaluation and other in-depth career-related questions. Appointments can be scheduled by calling the BCC at 608.262.2550 or stopping in 3290 Grainger Hall.

What's the deal with on-campus recruiting?

Hundreds of employers will be visiting campus this year to recruit Wisconsin students for internship and full-time positions. Much of the on-campus recruiting happens in fall semseter (especially for full-time positions). Here's a snapshot of the on-campus recruiting calendar:

Before you can take part in on-campus recruiting you have to establish your BuckyNet account (if you are a new business student) or update your BuckyNet account (returning students). Don't forget to do this ASAP so you can take advantage of all the great resources, events and interviewing opportunities!

Next week, Bucky's Career Corner will bring you tips and tricks to help you assess your career options and figure out a good fit!
