Every August, the Business Career Center blocks all BuckyNet accounts that are associated with the business school. This allows for BuckyNet clean-up and ensures student profiles stay up to date. On August 15, all BuckyNet accounts were blocked.
In order to remove the block from your account and access BuckyNet services for the 2011-2012 academic year, you will need to log-in to BuckyNet (ww.bus.wisc.edu/career) to update your profile and upload a current resume.
To update your Profile section, you will need to complete three tabs: 1.Personal tab, 2. Academic tab and 3. Re-read and re-date the Registration Contract tab. Then go to the Documents section to upload an updated and current resume.
Please note the Registration Contract, which are the terms and conditions associated with your BuckyNet usage, has been updated. Please read this carefully. Also, the work authorization drop down menu in the Profile section has changed. All BuckyNet users must be familiar with the BCC Late Cancellation/Interview No Show policy. If you have questions about these fields or any aspect regarding your account, please contact the BCC at 608.262.2550.
Once you have updated your account, please allow at least one business day for your account to be unblocked. After this is complete you will re-gain access to job and internship opportunities.
When updating your resume, be sure to check out the resume tips and samples on the BCC website. Wisconsin BBA, Certificate in Business and pre-business students with questions about BuckyNet or resumes are encouraged to visit the BCC during our daily drop-in advising hours from 11:30-1:30 (when classes are in session). Extended drop-in hours will be held from 10:00-5:00 from from September 6-14.
The UW Fall Career & Internship Fair will be held on Thursday, September 15 from 4:30-8:00 in the Kohl Center and is open to all UW-Madison students. Employers have already begun posting full-time and internship opportunities on BuckyNet so make sure to update your account soon and take a look at all the available opportunities.
If you are a non-business major and are associated with another school or college that utilizes BuckyNet (SoHE, CALS, L&S, Economics department) please remember that each career services office has different policies regarding BuckyNet usage and may have additional procedures you will need to follow to utilize your account during the upcoming academic year.
Please contact the Business Career Center at 608.262.2550 if you have any questions. We look forward to working with you this year!
