Earth Day Challenge in Madison Parks!
Volunteer for the 2011 Earth Day Challenge-April 23, 2011. Earth Day is a great opportunity to get out and help support our Parks. Earth Day Challenge Projects are held all over Madison in many of our 260 parks. If you and/or a group are interested in volunteering on April 23, 2011 for Earth Day, please fill out the online volunteer form at our Earth Day website. Volunteers will be notified about what locations are available and what time slots are needed: http://www.cityofmadison.com/parks/celebrate/earthdayChallenge.cfm
Volunteers can assist with mulching, picking up trash, weeding, and other tasks.
Progress Through Business
Progress Through Business addresses the needs of low and moderate-income individuals and communities through a variety of business-based approaches. We help in the creation and growth of companies located in underserved urban and rural communities. We assist employees and firms by improving practices and systems which improve financial stability, and address environmental concerns by working with partners who believe that economic development and sustainability go hand in hand. In essence, we take an integrated approach to addressing the needs of companies and low- and moderate-income people.
The Madison office of Progress Through Business is welcoming volunteers to participate in our free tax preparation and financial aid form assistance program. These services provide substantial value to the communities we work with. We want to help as many families and individuals as possible, and would love to hear from those passionate about contributing to our cause.
