New Home Sales Increased
According to The Wall Street Journal, new-home sales jumped 27% in March. Buyers rushed to sign deals before the federal tax credit expired on April 30. The credit provided new home buyers with $8,000.
Facebook Stirs Privacy Debate
Facebook annonced plans to expand its presence on its partner sites. Many users are concerned about Facebook sharing users' personal informatio with these other sites and limiting users' ability to keep their Web browsing private.
Wal-Mart Sex Discrimination Suit
A sex-discrimination suit filed against Wal-Mart in 2001 alleges that Wal-Mart systematically paid female employees less than men, awarded them smaller raises, and offered them fewer promotions. Last week, a federal appeals court ruled that a million or more women could join in a class-action suit for sex discrimination against Wal-Mart. If the case goes to court, an unfavorable verdict could cost Wal-Mart billions of dollars.
