Scheduling academic advising appointments online by Katie Coon

Although the spring semester has come to an end, your academic advisor is still available for appointments over the summer.  If you'd like to talk to your advisor about summer courses, your fall schedule, or anything else, you're welcome to follow these easy steps and schedule your appointment online:

Step 1: Use your NetID and password to log onto MyUW from the wisc.edu homepage.

Step 2: At the My UW homepage about halfway down the page on the left there is a box labeled “WiscCal- Make an Appointment.” Select the academic advisor of your choice.

Step 3: The advisor’s schedule should appear on the screen. Green blocks indicate time that the advisor is available. Red blocks indicate that the advisor is NOT available. Select a time that the advisor is available and works best for you.

Step 4: The next page will prompt you to provide a reason for this advising session. (This is just so your advisor can prepare for the meeting).  Click Create.

Step 5: You have scheduled your meeting. The confirmation screen offers an email reminder if necessary.

How do I cancel my appointment with my academic advisor using WiscCal?

Step 1: Repeat Steps 1 & 2 from the top.

Step 2: Select the meeting you had previously set up (should be highlighted in blue).

Step 3: Check the box labeled “Yes, I wish to cancel this appointment.”

Step 4: Then click “Cancel my appointment.” This will bring you back to the MyUW homepage. In the WiscCal-Make an Appointment box click “Return to Home.” This will reset the action as if you had never made an appointment.
