The Schools of Hope Project currently seeks students in the Madison area for summer AmeriCorps positions. This is a great opportunity for students looking to influence the academic careers of children.
AmeriCorps summer interns work for eight weeks in a classroom setting with a variety of community-based programs. Most of the their time will be spent working with Madison Metropolitan School District’s K-Ready Program which aims to address the academic needs of struggling students entering kindergarten. AmeriCorps teams will provide tutoring in literacy and math activities and volunteer support for children at a local elementary school or community center.
Applicants must be US citizens or have permanent resident status and be 18 years or older. The deadline to apply for the AmeriCorps summer internship program is Friday April 30.
