Employers Tell All: An event you won't want to miss if you're entering the business world by Katie Coon

Employers Tell All is a unique and beneficial event for students entering the business world.  The event features a panel of employers that are willing to share their opinion on questions ranging from applications to interviews and internships to job offers.  Students are invited to stick around after the presentation to talk and network with employers and fellow students while enjoying refreshments.

WASB’s Employers Tell All Networking Event

Wednesday, April 7, 2010

The Pyle Center, Room 121 (Gale VandeBerg Auditorium)

4:30-5:30 pm

So far, the following employers will be participating in this event:

Michael Zeter, Altria Sales

Elaine Schultz, M&I Bank

Kate Wade, Wisconsin Legislative Audit Bureau

Brittney Uecker, UW Medical Foundation

A variety of common questions will be addressed, including:

Do employers only look at a resume for 20-30 seconds in the first round? Does a student with a high GPA have a better chance of getting a job offer than a student with a not so great GPA, but with excellent internship experience? Do employers check the applicant’s social networking pages, such as Facebook or Twitter, before hiring?

All pre-registered attendees will have business cards printed and waiting for them to pick up at the event, courtesy of the Wisconsin Alumni Association.  Space is very limited, so please  sign up today at   http://www.uwalumni.com/employerstellall.aspx
