
Visitor & Information Programs (VIP) and the Office of Admissions are
looking for outgoing and enthusiastic students to serve as Information
Guides and Tour Guides beginning in summer and/or fall 2010.
We seek to employ students who represent the diversity of our student
population in age, gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion,
city/state/country of origin, personality, major, career goals, campus
involvement, and personal interests.
Tour guides conduct daily walking tours of campus. They welcome prospective
students and their families, and other visitors to the campus by sharing
information about academics and campus life, history, traditions, and
university achievements.
Information Guides assist students, faculty and staff, prospective students
and their families, visitors, and members of the community access
information about the campus and surrounding area through the Campus
Information Center in the Red Gym and at the Welcome Center at 21 N. Park
Street. They serve clients in person, over the phone, by e-mail, and through
chat.
Working as a Tour Guide or Information Guide is a great springboard to other
career opportunities regardless of field of interest. In these positions,
students will sharpen their communication, problem-solving, customer
service, and leadership skills while working in a fun, fast-paced, and
dynamic environment.
Starting salary is $8/hour with opportunities for advancement up to
