Do you volunteer? Do you need a ride to your site? by Katie Coon

Get a free taxi to over 120 different sites in Madison!  Deadline to register is March 4.

The Volunteer Transportation Program is a service courtesy of the Morgridge Center for Public Service that provides free cab rides to students who volunteer at least eight times during the semester.  This program is designed to support students who would like to volunteer on a regular basis but can’t because of transportation limitations.

Guidelines for this program:

  • This program is only open to registered UW-Madison students
  • Students must volunteer at least 8 times with the same agency in one semester
  • Students who have a paid or work-study position at a non-profit agency do not qualify
  • There is a limit of 16 round trip rides per student per semester
  • Students must volunteer for at least one hour at their non-profit agency each time
  • Students must attend a brief orientation prior to using the program
