This course, MHR 423 - Strategic Management, analyzes the sources of competitive success among firms and develops knowledge and skills necessary to be an effective strategy analyst – whether as a manager, a consultant, or an investment banker. It tackles the complexity of analyzing the business enterprise in this era of globalization, changing firm boundaries and increasing uncertainty. Students have the opportunity to apply the concepts and frameworks to case situations including a variety of large and small organizations facing strategic issues such as Mergers/Acquisition, Alliances, Corporate Strategy, and International Growth options.
