Application Requirements
All applicants will be required to complete the following components of our application:
Essay
(500 word max) and optional second essay (250 words max)
The applicant will be asked to submit an essay (500 word maximum) discussing their motivation for pursuing a Wisconsin BBA degree. Submitting this essay will consist of copying and pasting from a Microsoft Word document to a text box in the online application. Therefore, applicants are strongly encouraged to start working on this essay early in the application process and have it reviewed for errors or edits. Wisconsin BBA staff and faculty are not able to review the essay(s). The second essay is optional, with a 250 word max. The purpose of this optional essay is to provide the committee with extenuating circumstances the committee may not be aware of from the application. This optional essay is NOT intended for personal pleas of admission.
Résumé
As part of the Wisconsin BBA application process, we require a professional (one page) résumé to be submitted (in pdf format) by the applicant. You will see supporting documents linked below that we encourage you, the applicant, to review before submitting your résumé. It is important to understand that the résumé submitted for the BBA application may have some slight variations to one you may submit for full-time employment. We encourage the applicant to review and follow the examples and suggestions provided in the Templates, Guidelines and Expectations, and Common Practices documents.
Résumé Templates: These templates are provided to give examples of acceptable résumé formatting for the BBA application résumé. You will notice several examples covering various populations of students, including transfer and students currently on campus. Please refer to the Guidelines and Expectations document for further explanation and examples of formatting.
Guidelines and Expectations: This document is intended to be used in conjunction with the provided templates. The explanations provided in this document will walk you through the individual sections of the résumé in order to provide a clear understanding of how to best format your résumé.
Common Practices: Finally, please refer to this document for what we consider best practices for your BBA application résumé. The bullet points on this document are intended to help you avoid what we view as common mistakes and to form a well-organized résumé.
