Professor Kuzuhara would like to inform you about a course that the Department of Management and Human Resources will be offering in the spring 2010. The course is MHR 470 - Management Consulting (3 credits) and it will be offered on MW 1:00-2:15 p.m. Consider taking the course!

In this course, you will learn about

• the management consulting process
• tools for diagnosing the functioning of organizations
• how to work with clients as a consultant
• how to design various interventions to enhance organizational effectiveness and performance

You will have the opportunity to design and complete an actual consulting project with a client in a real world organization. The course also features the extensive use of "live case studies" in which practitioners will come in with problems they are experiencing and you will have an opportunity to diagnose their issues, develop recommendations to present to them, and you will get feedback from them at the end of the class regarding the merit of your recommendations.

This is a very "hands on" course that will help you prepare for careers as consultants (working for firms like Accenture, Deloitte, Mercer, Huron, ZS Associates, etc.) as well as for a variety of other jobs/careers regardless of your major.  This course is open to students from all majors!

If you are interested in taking this course, please e-mail Loren Kuzuhara(lkuzuhara@bus.wisc.edu) and he will authorize you to add the course. The course lists the pre-requisites as being MHR 300 and MHR 420, but these requirements will be waived so long as I authorize you to register for the course.   FYI, you can use this course to fulfill MHR major requirements,business breadth requirements, or general elective requirements for many non-business majors.
