Gustavo graduated from Rutgers College in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. He launched his career at Barclays Capital, the investment banking division of Barclays PLC, as part of the finance graduate program. After a few months in regulatory reporting he was offered an opportunity to join the fixed income group and drive efforts in monitoring the daily variances on the profit and loss reports for interest rate products. During his time at Barclays he also collaborated in launching a global marketing campaign targeting graduates. In his next role, at Moore Capital Management, a leading hedge fund with over $10 billion in assets under management, he was responsible for developing the product control group and evaluating market risks metrics across various investments. Determined to shift roles and gain exposure to new business development and client relationship management, he joined KPMG in their advisory practice. There he led cross-functional teams, delivered millions in cost-savings for his clients, and improved risk control frameworks for clients such as Goldman Sachs. Through his experiences in meeting clients’ needs and partnering with firm leaders to identify new business opportunities, he identified his passion for brand management.
