The Wisconsin BBA is a sophomore admissions program offering 10 majors and seven certificate options. The program is comprised of a student body of approximately 1,800 students.

Students are admitted once per year after successfully submitting all application materials in the prior spring term (for most students, this is at the end of their freshman year). Approximately, 60 percent of all applicants gain admissions.

Students who are not directly admitted from high school and/or a transfer institution need to fulfill one year (or 24 credits) of pre-business curriculum. During the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Summer Orientation Advising and Registration (or SOAR), advising staff from the Wisconsin BBA assist students who are interested in applying to the business school. The Wisconsin BBA does admit a small, select group of students directly from high school each year. This is an invitation-only process known as the Wisconsin BBA Direct Admit Program.

Once admitted to the Wisconsin School of Business, students continue on with business preparatory, core, major, and breadth requirements, as well as remaining liberal studies coursework. Transfer students follow business requirements depending on the term they first started college.
